Stephen E. Croskrey, Chief Executive Officer, Member, Board of Directors, Danimer Scientific
Stephen E. Croskrey, Danimer Scientific‘s Chief Executive Officer, oversees the strategic direction and operations of the company. Croskrey brings more than 20 years of experience providing leadership to companies that manufacture and sell products such as industrial fibers, medical devices, and law enforcement gear. He previously served as the President and CEO of Armor Holdings Products LLC, a major manufacturer of armor systems. During his 6-year tenure at Armor Holdings Products LLC, the annual revenue increased from $45 million to over $300 million due to Croskey’s completion of 13 acquisition transactions and associated organic growth. Croskrey has also held Senior Executive positions at Allied Signal and Mobil Oil. He serves on the on the Boards of Directors of Surgical Momentum LLC, a healthcare data analytics firm, and Precysmedtx LLC, a medical device company. Croskrey received his Master’s of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and his Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering at the United States Military Academy at West Point. Shortly after, Croskrey was commissioned as an officer in the United States Army. Croskrey served as a Company Commander and attained the rank of Captain during his six years of active duty.
John Dowdy, Chief Financial Officer
John Dowdy, III brings to Danimer Scientific a long record of achievement in private industry, public accounting, and assistance to emergent companies in transition to becoming publicly-traded. Before joining Danimer Scientific, Dowdy served at Yandex – one of Europe’s largest Internet companies and the leading search provider in Russia – as VP of Finance for International Business and Chief Accounting Officer (CAO). As CAO, Dowdy played a key role in facilitating Yandex’s $1.4 billion IPO in 2011. Prior to Yandex, Dowdy was the CAO of CTC Media, Assistant Corporate Controller for Golden Telecom, and an auditor with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Dowdy is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the State of Georgia. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Georgia with a B.A in Accounting.
Michael Smith, Chief Operating Officer
Michael Smith brings decades of manufacturing and continuous-process improvement expertise to Danimer Scientific. Previously, he held high-level manufacturing positions at Ingersoll Rand, Amoco, and British Petroleum. His specialties include driving improvements through the use of lean manufacturing techniques and Six Sigma tools. Smith trained at the University of Tennessee and the Juran Institute in Statistical Process Control and Six Sigma, and at Simpler Consulting in Lean Manufacturing and the Toyota Production System. Smith holds a B.Sc. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Dr. Isao Noda, Chief Science Officer and Senior Vice President, Member, Board of Directors, Danimer Scientific
Award-winning scientist Dr. Isao Noda, inventor of Nodax™ PHA biopolymer, came to Danimer Scientific after a distinguished, three-decade career at Procter & Gamble. Noda is recognized as one of the world’s leading authorities in the field of polymer science and spectroscopy. During his work with two-dimensional infrared (2D IR) correlation spectroscopy, Noda pioneered development of a specific type of PHA known as medium-chain-length polyhydroxyalkanoates (mcl-PHA). Noda holds over 90 patents in the European Union and the U.S., has published over 300 articles and has co-authored three books. Noda received a Ph.D. and B.Sc. in chemical engineering, a M.Sc. in bioengineering, and a M.Phil. from Columbia University, as well as a D.Sc. Degree in chemistry from the University of Tokyo. In addition to his groundbreaking scientific work at Danimer Scientific, Noda serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Delaware. Dr. Noda was recently appointed to Danimer Scientific ‘s Board of Directors.
Stuart Pratt, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Danimer Scientific
Before accepting Chairmanship of Danimer Scientific ‘s Board of Directors, Mr. Pratt accumulated substantial experience in the commercial real estate business during the last twenty-five years and is actively involved in all facets of the industry. His experience includes ownership, management, development and redevelopment of office, industrial, retail and residential properties located in Greater Boston, Northern New England, Florida and Texas. His extensive management and development experience includes development, ownership and/or syndication of nearly $250,000,000 of commercial real estate.
From 1984 to 1998, Mr. Pratt served as President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Hunneman Real Estate Corporation, with over 2,500 employees and a combined operating income of over $150,000,000 per year. Mr. Pratt is now Chairman of NAI Hunneman & all of its operating divisions.
Prior to 1984, Mr. Pratt had various positions including Chief Executive Officer of Federal Street Equities, Inc., a syndication and development firm based in Houston, Texas; Executive Vice President of W.C. Codman & Son, Inc; and President of Hunneman Commercial Company.
Mr. Pratt has professional membership in the Society of Industrial Realtors where he has served as a Director as well as being on the National Education Committee. He is also a member of the National Association of Realtors and holds a CCIM designation. Mr. Pratt has a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters Degree from Boston University and has attended the Wharton School of Business.
Phil Van Trump, Chief Technology Officer
Currently managing Research and Development, Process Development and Regulatory Affairs for Danimer Scientific, Phil Van Trump brought over a decade of leadership experience to the Danimer Scientific. With expertise in supply-chain and logistic businesses, North American business unit operations, corporate education, business analysis, customer service and sales management, Van Trump led conversion of legacy enterprise software to a purpose-built system, managed operations and finance, and re-engineered a freight-flow network handling over 100,000 concurrent transactions. Van Trump’s postgraduate work at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Georgia State University – where he studied Proteomics and Molecular Biology – is backed by a B.Sc. in Molecular Biology and Microbiology from the University of Central Florida.
Scott Tuten, Chief Marketing Officer
Scott Tuten brings a successful history of international logistics, supply chain management, transportation, inventory control, operations, sales and warehousing experience to Danimer Scientific. Prior to entering the field of sustainable biopolymers, he held numerous VP, RVP and District Manager positions over sales and operations for a multi-billion dollar transportation company and managed multi-state territories and divisions for Fortune 500 companies. Tuten offers expertise in sales management, strategic planning, operations management and policy implementation. He joined Danimer Scientific in 2006 as Vice President of Operations and was quickly promoted to Senior Vice President of Operations at Danimer Scientific. Following the company merger in 2014, Tuten was appointed Chief Marketing Officer of DANIMER SCIENTIFIC to manage overall sales and marketing. He holds a B.B.A. in Logistics from Georgia Southern University and is currently pursuing a GSU Masters in Business Administration.
John Moore, Vice President of Business Development
With over 24 years of plastics industry experience (21 as a sales engineer), John Moore brings a working knowledge of plastic products, manufacturing processes, and systems engineering to Danimer Scientific. Moore originally joined Danimer Scientific as an independent sales agent in 2005, and formally joined the Danimer Scientific executive team as the Vice President of Business Development in 2008. Moore’s range of industry experience and vast knowledge of packaging applications lends valuable insight to customers seeking to lessen the environmental impact of their products. Moore has worked with companies worldwide, educating them on biopolymer applications and integrating them into their manufacturing facility. After attending Louisiana Tech for Mechanical Engineering, Moore graduated from Louisiana State University in Shreveport with a BS in Finance.
