Danimer Scientific was the first company in the world to introduce a commercially successful, food-safe extrusion coating resin that uses PLA (polylactic acid) as the primary material for coating paper, paperboard and fabric.
In establishing this leadership position, we demonstrated that the extrusion coating resin will perform on existing production equipment at speeds comparable to traditional polyolefin—all while offering energy savings, thanks to much lower processing temperatures.
Excellent Performance Properties
Danimer Scientific’s extrusion coating resins also provide excellent adhesion and a great print surface. They can be applied to a broad range of substrates with a wide choice of coat weights.
These coating materials are suitable for food-contact applications, including both hot and cold applications. They also provides good flavor preservation and odor-barrier characteristics.
